Transitioning into Fall

If you are like me, you are trying to enjoy the last bits of summer before the school year starts up again. This feels normal but what lies ahead is not but I believe that we can do this.

I keep hearing educators, therapists and administrators offering wonderful advice like:

set up a schedule to help with time management
foster independence and self esteem
break activities into chunks
set up a work space
make learning fun and engaging
sense when your kids have had enough and take a break

All of this is great advice but how do you actually do this! What happens when the cookie cutter advice doesn’t work for your family? This is where I come in, my job is to help with all of this and more. I’ve been doing this sort of work for years, the only new piece is that I am now doing it virtually and can work with anyone, not just Seattle families! Like so many of us, I was forced into figuring out how to do it virtually but looking back now all I feel is gratitude, for my creativity, my background in technology, psychology and teaching and let’s not forget my wonderful bunch of clients who were willing to try.

“When the stay at home orders began due to Covid-19, I was thrilled to learn Elizabeth had a plan for continuing her consultation work with my son. Elizabeth has worked with Sam for over 10 years. As a Somatic Behavioral Coach, I add one more layer, the body and the nervous system. This is an overlooked piece to learning, without this layer concepts, skills and behaviors are not internalized or mastered and the individual often ends up dependent on an external force, often parents and teachers. My goal has always been and will continue to be to help people feel empowered and to find joy and ease in who they are. I specialize in helping neurodivergent children, teens and adults but anyone can benefit from my services. You are not alone, we can do this together, with collaboration and creativity.
