So many of my clients want to fix everything in the world before they can show up in it.
One day my client stumbled upon a peter rabbit toy in the street and we stopped to look at it. He said “that baby is probably so sad” and he immediately, with panic in his voice, said “the mom will fix it!” He wanted me to reassure him and tell him “of course the mom will fix it” but I did not. I simply said “it is not our problem, we cannot fix it. We can move it to the grass and hope/wish the baby finds the rabbit but that is all we can do”. We took a deep breath, moved the rabbit and carried on. It takes discernment, courage and wisdom to know what problems you can fix and which ones you can’t. Historically a found, lost object would be an invitation to panic, but not today.
